“Critical Perspectives and critical Dimensions on the ongoing Ukrainian Crisis: Which systemic Challenges to the EU-Russia dialogue?”

We are glad to announce that the European College of the University of Tartu (http://www.ec.ut.ee/en) will host, on April 3-4, a two-day seminar entitled “Critical Perspectives and critical Dimensions on the ongoing Ukrainian Crisis: Which systemic Challenges to the EU-Russia dialogue?” The event is jointly organized by the European College of the University of Tartu and the University College London, in cooperation with "Platform Ukraine" (http://platformukraine.com/about/), a multidisciplinary project based at the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSEES http://www.ucl.ac.uk/ssees). The event is generously supported by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (http://www.kas.de/wf/en/).
The objective of the event is to frame the critical dimensions that have determined the current developments in Ukraine within a multi-disciplinary perspective and to shed light on how the on-going crisis has affected the nature of the EU-Russia relations and its long-term systemic implications. The panel discussion will be followed by an expert roundtable with the objective to combine the different perspectives debated in the individual panels.
The call for papers (available at the following link http://www.ec.ut.ee/sites/default/files/ec/tartu-cfp_final.pdf ) is now open. Paper proposals can be submitted by February 28, 2015.Contributions are welcome on the developments in the relations between EU, Russia, and the post-Soviet space and the respective interactions, from different disciplinary and methodological perspectives ranging from politics, history, economics, anthropology, sociology, geography, semiotics, and media studies.
