XIV International Scientific Conference of Students and Postgraduates

„Sociology in (Post)Modernity”,

which will take place

from 31^th of March to 2^nd of April 2016 at the department of sociology

of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (Kharkiv, Svobody Square, 6).

Organizers invite students and postgraduates to attend the conference in the following areas:

·         The sociological imagination and sociological knowledge in the modern world.

·         Dilemmas of the sociology of culture.

·         Social communication in postmodernity.

·         Risk, security and social order in a changing world.

·         Economic and management practices in sociological terms.

·         The political space: practices and actors.

·         Personality in the system of social groups and institutions.

·         Transformation processes on the postsoviet space.

·         Ethnical and national in the XXI century society.

·         Gender in sociology.

·         Sociological reflection of education in the informational society.

·         Deviation of the world and the world of deviations.

·         Young people in today’s world: values, life plans, self-realization.

·         Conflict theories in the modernity analysis.

·         Theoretical and methodological problems of social work.

·         Sociological support of social policy and social work.

·         Environmental direction in sociological discourse.

·         Daily life in sociological research.

·         The public sociology: myth or reality?

·         Sociological knowledge in PR and advertising.

·         Student government in sociological terms.

During the conference there will also be held the roundtable on the topic:

“Verges of sociology and sociology on the verge: internal and external limits of sociological knowledge”.

Working languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English.

Applications for participation are to be submitted in the language of abstract and report. Members are welcome to speak both in English and Russian / Ukrainian sections. The report duration should be close to 10 minutes. Submitted papers will be published in the book of abstracts. Travelling, accommodation and food has to be covered by participants` cost.

Application for participation and the abstract of the report should be send to Organizational Commitee by e-mail by the 1^st of March 2016.

Materials have to be sent in electronic form only.

The registration fee per participant equals 80 grivnas and should be paid at the registration.

Every participant will be provided with the published book of abstracts of the conference if the fee is paid.

„Sociology in (Post)Modernity”

An application is accompanied with the ABSTRACT:

Text volume must be under 3 pages (no more than 6000 signs with spaces; seek the quantity of signs in the menu Service→Statistics of your MS Word); Times New Roman type garniture, 14 size, 1,5 spacing; margins: left – 2,5 cm, right – 1 cm, top – 2 cm, bottom – 2 cm. The absence of extra spaces and automatic hyphenation is strongly recommended; hyphen and ellipsis must differ.

Abstracts which break requirements or sent after the 1^st of March 2016 won’t be included to the book of abstracts. Materials are considered as received if the Orgcommittee have sent the confirmation. If not, we recommend to send materials again.

Organizational committee has a right to select and edit the received materials. The message about the Conference program will be sent to the participant by e-mail.
